    Please, God, spare us from such "enchancements".

I am not a god, just a saint--in the Church of Emacs, we do not have
gods.  If there are any gods, none seems inclined to intervene in
Emacs development.

I'm sorry that you are unhappy with the new Emacs features of the past
decade, but I think that most users appreciate them--your preferences
seem to be different from most people's.  It is not really hard to
customize any of these things.  Nearly always, setting a variable or
two or changing some key bindings will do the job.

For instance, you can completely turn off interaction between the kill
ring and the window system by setting `interprogram-cut-function' and
`interprogram-paste-function' to nil.
