Using prefix is just stupid when you have changed a bunch of paths and
need to install everything in one directory (like when using stow),
this is what DESTDIR is used for.  Take this as an example (yes, it is
quite extreme):

./configure --prefix=  --exec-prefix=/arch/gnu-i386 \
            --infodir=/share/info --mandir=/share/man \
            --libexecdir=/arch/libexec-gnu-i386

How would you install this so that you could use stow on it with the
least possible hassle?  Specially when you have all of this in a
config.site file and don't really remember (or don't want to remember)
what exactly is in there.


On an different note, you (Tom) might want to fix it so that
spamassasin doesn't tag your mail as spam. :)
