I disagree. I don't think those who accuse bots of cheating will be pacified by
anything. I doubt there is anybody who TRULY believes an open source program
like GnuBg is cheating. Their arguments simply can not be credibly sustained.
Last time I bothered to read him, even r.g.bg's most persistent troll had
retreated from accusing GnuBg of cheating, simply calling it rubbish for
unspecified reasons and claiming he could beat it with his cube actions.
The people who discover bots for the first time and accuse the bots of cheating
'cos they can't believe what's hitting them are quickly convinced by the usual
arguments; repeatable dice, repeatable moves in a given position, etc.
Those who accuse the bots of cheating for their own amusement will always find
some spurious argument. The fact that a cheat mode exist may even be a good
thing. They will have to argue that there is both the official, obvious, cheat
mode and a hidden, subtle, one, which I think would sound even more ridiculous.
"Keep it in!", I say. Refuse to be restricted by a tiny minority of loudmouths.
