Chris - I don't understand what you are getting at.

There needs to be a way to use inetlib to do the common
IMAP-over-SSL protocol that email clients have been using
for years.

Both interfaces must be exposed; please add the
IMAPConnection(SocketFactory,..) constructor code I posted.
