I disagree. inetlib is a project to implement internet standard protocols. Non-negotiated IMAP over SSL on port 993 is not an IETF standards track proposal. In contrast, IMAP with negotiated TLS (using STARTTLS) is (RFC 2595).

There are good reasons that IMAP-SSL is not on the standards track. If it were a compatible IMAP extension I would consider supporting it, but it isn't: it's a competing non-standard which is the wrong way to do it.

Is that more comprehensible?
