I wasn't aware of that, thanks.
Of course I'm going to use the ChangeLog format if this is the
GNU standard.

So would I have entered
* (isvolatile) renamed isVolatile
or would I have actually repeated the file name in every line
of the CVS commit message?

This is on the FSF's website somewhere... I've become used to it and
emacs apparently can automate it as you change files too.
