Details:

The pop-ups are annoying because:
*Menus: they cover other menu entries
*Canvas: they cover staves (and notes, etc)

The menu pop-ups should be moved to the side, to the right or left of the menu
(depends on screen position).

Not tips about where to put the canvas pop-ups, but they aren't that annoying
anyway.
