a widget will look the same on all platforms.  GNUstep is a WYSIWYG
environment.

there are talks about deviating from the WYSIWYG philosophy - or at least
allowing users/programmers to deviate from the WYSIWYG philosophy if they
so wish - for example implementing themes or autosizing nibs and such, but
that isn't directly related to the host platform.
