My most important request -- removing the "are you sure you want to
quit?".
ImageViewer is inherently nondestructive -- closing the program does
nothing but remove the program from memory. Thus, it should not ask the
user to confirm the terminate: action.
Second -- checking whether or not you can actually view an image before
trying to, using the known types for NSImageRep. Opening a PNG when
GNUstep is not using libwraster will very often crash.
