svnsync is a good way to start getting a local clone of the remote repo. If a different VCS is picked, and we opt to preserve the history, it's definitely faster to import things from a local repo than from a remote one.

In any case, just having a backup svnsync'd copy is a good idea. I'm running this now, but office hours are due to end soon, and I'm not sure I'll be leaving the machine on overnight to pull all 30000+ revs.

I'll probably just continue the process tomorrow.

Guys....

It appears as though GNA is about to come back online.  I spoke to the
guys on #gna at freenode.net and they are in the middle of bringing
the server back up.  It seems as though the motherboard died.

Once it does come back I am going to do the following:

1) Verify the repo that's up is, indeed, the latest of all of our
code.   I will need assistance from the other maintainers to make sure
everything looks good.   So, guys, please take a look at your
respective pieces and make sure everything is there.
2) Determine a backup strategy and create a mirror.   I'm considering
having this on a machine on my network until we determine what our new
hosting solution is going to be.

More to come....
