Hi

Using Puppy Linux (thank you Puppy Linux, you open us the way to do intuitive that what is not clearly explained in the doc of other distro's) I did open my ISO (one hit on it in Rox) and find in /mnt/sda5/isos/dragora-2.2.i486.iso/packages a list named «packages.txt». Having the list did I search with geany (of Puppy Linux) where my 5 packages, 2 files each (*.tlz + *.tlz.sig each) are to find where and did copy (drag + drop) them into /mnt/sda3/root (my dragora-partition).

And after rebooting into dragora, I did enter in the console in commando line:

$ pkg add kernel*

etc.

the first one (kernel*) did happen without error. the 4 next one did produce an error what I can not reproduce here, as I am in Puppy Linux again).

But dragora starts, VI starts, Icecat starts etc.

Probably is the base system from ISO number 1 now completely installed

but not completely configurated:

The clock is not right

(the language is good: German! thank you very much!!!)

Xdm starts not himself but can be started extra out the console.

dhcp doesn't start = the distro is not really usable, as the most what I do, I do it in the web...

I did find a command dhcpd but it claims absence of configuration.

And I find no explanation what is the matter with the 2. ISO (dragora-2.2-plus.iso) to install it easily and work with it.

What is to do especially for the dhcp?

Kind regards.

Hi
I am new here. My PC ist old (Dell Optiplex SX270 with Celeron + ab. 628 MB RAM). CD-Writer is connected as removable USB drive like in laptops, but is to connect as /dev/sr0 in Dragora) und I did try n times (perhaps) to install Dragora on it without error! No way...
(on my laptop Acer emachine, AMD64, 2 GB RAM, that I am rarely using, it was no problem, and works)
Yesterday it was possible to install on the PC with "only" 5 errors: the no. 72 (kernel modules), 355 (xfsprogs), 397 (gnome icone), 400 (gtk2) and 416 (mesa) are missing. And dhcp doesn't start. I am absolutely not expert in commando line.
What is to do to mount the ISO from harddisk to avoid writting errors from old CD drive, and to post-install the above 5 packages?
Or does it be possible to re-install fresh directly from the iso FROM HARDDISK, not from USB stick (I have no USB sticks as I have a terra Byte hard disk plugged in on my internet IAD! and can save so data for years...)
Kind regards.
