Very cool!

Follow-ups:

5) I don't see anything in the man-page about "Return Codes".  How can I tell if the execution was successful from a script?

6) It would be nice to have a "--log-file" option to re-direct stdout/stderr to for batch-executions.  In the meantime, is it possible with standard re-direction?  I'm afraid if I do that, duplicity will think I'm trying to send my backups to somewhere else! :)

Thanks again!

Yes, use the 'remove-older-than' option with the 'cleanup' command.

Correct, old incrementals would be deleted as well.

If you use the archive-dir option, it will be more efficient, yes.

You've started a good list for a Newbie FAQ.  Maybe someone could
volunteer to help get one put together (Hint!, Hint!).  The old one is
way out of date.

The keys and passphrases you need to access the remote site and the
backups should be backed up somewhere safe, but not on the source or the
target systems.  A thumb drive comes to mind for this kind of thing.

Thanks for expressing your appreciation... it helps.
