Um, do they use `read-file-name' to read them?!?  If so, and if they
haven't somehow made substitute-in-file-name work correctly for URLs,
then they'll get screwed by completion anyway.  If they _have_ made
substitute-in-file-name work correctly for URLs, then Stefan's code
will (er, should) do the right thing.
