FWIW, I didn't modify any of the smiley icons.  Maybe you counted the
following make.bat change?

        * make.bat: Use "echo *" to clarify the output.
        (:lisp, :infotest): Avoid "not found" errors
        (:etc): Remove etc\gnus.  Be more verbose.  Add new smilies.
        Simplify.
