Yes, and you seemed to be suggesting that we change that, so that now
non-pretest builds are X.Y.Z.1,2,3,... while pretest versions are
A.B.C.D.E.1,2,3...

loadup.el, for example, and make-dist.  Probably others as well, I
don't remember.
