Also, can you tell me what version of GTK you are using? If you could try a non-GTK build and see if the same thing happensthat would be valuable information. Does this only happen when using SSHor also when SSH is not used?When running Emacs locally, it does not happen. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe it's a Gtk-only thing: I tried the Athena build once and there were no such problems.
I was more thinking of using the remote display without SSH, i.e. a direct
connection.
Regarding the Gtk version, does the following help? ketchup% dpkg -S /usr/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0 libgtk2.0-0: /usr/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0
Sorry, no. It could mean anything from 2.0 to 2.4. If you have the include
files, do % grep VERSION /usr/include/gtk-2.0/gtk/gtkversion.h or if not, % ls -l /usr/lib/libgtk-x11-* Thanks, Jan D.
