Sorry, I missed that part of the documentation :)

I tried it now, setting it using Customize (I set it too "Behave as in
other buffers" (nil)), and it still does not work, which is strange. I
have a dired buffer open and when I do C-h v dired-dnd-protocol-alist
it says the value *is* nil.
