nil at the date prompt might be a better choice. =) That gives you
undated tasks. If most of your tasks are undated, (setq
planner-expand-name-default "nil") so that RET at the prompt gives you
an undated task.

planner-copy-or-move-task (C-c C-c) or planner-copy-or-move-region and
specify nil as the date.

Undated tasks are good. You could also get the hang of saying +7 to
mean 7 days from now, etc. =) Have fun!
