[Fsfe-uk] April Meeting

From: Alex Hudson
Subject: [Fsfe-uk] April Meeting

Okay, let's collect this all together properly. Firstly, easy part: the
date. Most people prefer to have a weekend meeting, due to travelling
and work committments, so it seems pretty clear that the available dates
are:

        6 April
        13 April
        20 April

(any later doesn't really count as early April ;). I personally would
tend to go for the 13th April - can anyone think of any good reason to
choose a different date? I've listed Saturdays because pubs don't tend
to open on Sundays; this of course assumes 'pub' is a requirement (I
would say it is :).

Secondly, location. The offers we have received are London, Birmingham
and Leeds, unless I've forgotton someone. Most people seem to prefer
London, so I'm tending to say 13th April in London, provisionally. Ramin
- is your offer of a room at BNP Paribas valid for that date? Of course,
we're grateful for all the other offers, and I certainly would advocate
not meeting in the same place - I think we've benefited a lot from
taking the show 'on the road', as it were.

Lastly, agenda. Given that the meeting appears to have fallen into my
lap in terms of ogrenisation (what a mistake...), I'm going to start an
agenda for the meeting. There is probably some AFFS business to take
care of, in terms of the organisation, but I suspect that the other
items will fall into two categories:
        + meetings/events;
        + campaigns
I'll be grabbing items as they pass by on the list (e.g., Free Software
in Schools, LinuxExpo Birmingham, etc.), but of course you're welcome to
e-mail stuff to me too. I'll publish the proposed agenda fairly soon,
and we can agree on what's there, and (if it's too long) where we might
make cuts :(

Sound good?

Cheers,

Alex.
