For what it is worth, the bug was already present in the source code
as of 2007-08-12T05:12Z.  I am pretty sure the bug was not there in
the previous .tar.gz file I downloaded a few days earlier.  So if
nothing else helps, the bug can be searched for by inspecting all
changes in that time period.
