I posted my packages for libupnp-1.2.1, libiconv-1.9.2_1, and gmediasever-0.8.0:

http://www.uvm.edu/~jflemer/omnifi/packages/FreeBSD-6/

Make sure you pkg_delete all your *upnp*, libiconv*, and gmediaserver* ports, then to be sure, make sure these are all gone:
  /usr/local/lib/libupnp.*
  /usr/local/lib/libixml.*
  /usr/local/lib/libthreadutil.*

From the logs you sent, it looks like the /usr/local/lib/libupnp.so you currently have was build with g++, not gcc. So, gmediaserver cannot link to it due to missing c++ symbols (though it might work if you built gmediaserver with g++ too).

Hello James,

Umm, could you mail me (address@hidden) the log (/usr/ports/devel/gmediaserver/work/gmediaserver-0.8.0/config.log)? ;-)

I will do that in a separate mail ;-)

Chances are, all the messing around you did with various other libupnp ports left some garbage somewhere that pkg_delete didn't clean up.

You're probably right, because now I have same problem when I use port as when trying to build the sources from scratch:

checking for UpnpInit in -lupnp... no

See also my previous post. I definately want to try out the new port after you've updated it. For now your compiled stuff would be great.

Thanx for your response,

Peter.
