It's not so much for integration into source and build processes that
I want this. It's more for the situations where I get a bug report or
somebody is looking at a random file and I have no idea what version
it's from. It's magnificently easy to tell them, "OK, what does the
$Id$ line say?" and then find it right in the repository.
Subversion, like Arch, has a per-repository rather than a per-file
changeset notion, will update those flags only when the file changes,
which is fine for me.
Incidentally, this is not a big deal to me. It's just part of the
"nice to have" category.
