I guess that's acceptable, if ugly.

I do hope you report the lack of -r as a bug to the freebsd maintainers
too, BTW -- it's a useful and elegant option, and it's silly that they
don't support it.  Sometimes it's much harder to work around its absence
(in this case the find output is stuck into an argv anyway, but if
you're relying on the `works even if the file list is too long for argv'
behavior of xargs, things get uglier).
