That's maybe what you read in my answer.  What I meant was: just last
night I discussed font selection with Han-Wen, and we agreed that it
would be good to have this redone before the feature-freeze.

Right now, font selections sucks; which is one of the reasons it has
not been documented very well.  From our pov it makes no sense to
document broken functionality.  Also, the last stable release dates
a year back; so the doco that is there is largely out of date.  

So, rather than looking into the whole mess myself, I just gave you
a hint.  If you want (ie, need it now), you should be able to figure
it out; in the meantime, maybe I'll have a look at rewriting it.

You just asked for the right feature at the wrong time.
