Unfortunately, the renamed mailing lists have still not
made it into the searchable archives and at 
www.lilypond.org, there are still links to the old lists
unless you happen to find the correct link:

You can find archives of bug-lilypond at 
http://mail.gnu.org/pipermail/bug-lilypond/
If you browse the mails from August, you will find
several with "1.5.7" in the subject line that answers
your question.
