John Edwin Tobey, by chance?
;-)

Hmm.
The Internet Archive's Wayback Machine has something at
<URL:http://web.archive.org/web/20040215013708/http://john-edwin-tobey.org/Hurd/>
or <URL:http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://john-edwin-tobey.org/Hurd/>,
but it seems that they didn't store the tarballs.

At least there is a picture of Thomas and Roland...

I also head of a HurdFR guy (Guillaume Libersat) writing a "Python
translator":
#v+
01:03 < dukez> tschwinge, want to see a python translator on valombre ? :)
01:04 < tschwinge> Python translator?
01:04 < dukez> i'm writing a python glue to trivfs
#v-
However, I don't know about its state.

Regards,
 Thomas
