Image smoothing and scaling

For my GSDock, I do a lot of NSImage scaling, but neither Cocoa nor 
GNUstep will scale smoothly (ie: aliased).  Does anyone know if there 
is a way to do this using OpenStepish ways (ie: not using c libraries)? 
 I'm surprised there is not a:

NSImage -setScaleWhenResized: (BOOL)scaled smoothed: (BOOL) smoothed
