I'm confused: I'm pretty sure Eric was talking about GPIO pins on the Pi, not the pins on the hat,  and I know *I* was talking about pins on the Pi. The hat may be wired to use its pin 4 to output PPS, but as far as I can tell, you can jumper that to any GPIO pin you want on the Pi (as long as it isn't a power or ground pin, or in use for some other function) as long as you tell Linux to expect PPS on that pin. I'm pretty sure Eric is trying to figure out which pin to *input* PPS to on the Pi (which,  as far as I know is configurable), not which pin to output from on the hat (which will be determined by the hat).

Ye, and no.  On the hat I have pin 4 is hardwired.  I could cut traces
and relocate...

A lot of bugs fixe between the Wheezy verion of gpsd and the current one.
But not necessarily a bug you would hit.
