Huummm sorry but there is a week ago, i compile the 2.6.0 test9 benh kernel and enable the fans gestion :) and it works fine :) (i have a Bi G5 too)
Perhaps you can enable it yves... in your kernel :).You can try to get the debian xavier but you will stop at the XFree configuration because I see (with my information) that the radeon 9600 pro support is not fine... You perhaps have a radeon 9800 pro but I don't think that it will be better... I try XFree with both radeon's drivers and fbdev (with frame buffer kernel extension active) But the two don't seem to work... I try with an entire compilation of XFree via a gentoo distribution, and i try with debian package... Perhaps I'm so bad. But if you success to make you're XFree work, tell me what to do :D
I'm waiting for the XFree 4.4 release... I test Pre7 as soon I can for my part.
