Just a little problem : the fans... What I understand is that I
need
to turn on the fan gestion in the kernel. After the install I'll
give
it a try.
AFAIK support for fan speed adjustment is not yet in the linux
kernel, so
fans will run at full speed (rather than scale as temperature
fluctuates).
I believe it's being worked on ..

Huummm sorry but there is a week ago, i compile the 2.6.0 test9 benh
kernel and enable the fans gestion :) and it works fine :) (i have a
Bi G5 too)
Perhaps you can enable it yves... in your kernel :).
You can try to get the debian xavier but you will stop at the XFree
configuration because I see (with my information) that the radeon
9600 pro support is not fine...
You perhaps have a radeon 9800 pro but I don't think that it will be
better... I try XFree with both radeon's drivers and fbdev (with
frame buffer kernel extension active)
But the two don't seem to work... I try with an entire compilation of
XFree via a gentoo distribution, and i try with debian package...
Perhaps I'm so bad. But if you success to make you're XFree work,
tell me what to do :D
I'm waiting for the XFree 4.4 release...
I test Pre7 as soon I can for my part.
