??? I don't understand how you produced the .tex file. From the
latex error message it looks as if it contains Lilypond input
commands, so it can't be the output of Lilypond.

However, it is true that running
>>lilypond test.ly
>>latex test.tex
will produce an error. What does work, though, is
>>lilypond test.ly
>>tex test.tex
