Also after you install tetex-extra?  Work for me:

    TEXMF= mktexmf ecb4
    mktexmf: /home/janneke/cvs/savannah/lilypond/sauter-fonts-mftraced/ecb4.mf: 
successfully generated.
   /home/janneke/cvs/savannah/lilypond/sauter-fonts-mftraced/ecb4.mf

Are you pulling from CVS?  This also WFM.
