Isn't this covered in the _List of articulations_ appendix B.8 ?

I suppose that we could add this back for the shorthands; IIRC, I
removed the names since I didn't think they were useful. I mean,
if you know what the desired shape looks like, you can see it in
the picture. If you don't know what shape you want, then knowing
that -- is \legato doesn't really help.
