Heh, I am a bit short on time.  But sure, I'll try to come up with a patch 
this afternoon.

BTW installing LilyPond with "checkinstall" was broken for a long time.  
There, too, I lacked the temporal resources to try a fix, but it 
miraculously started working...  Good job.
