Doc main page: too many parentheses

It's me, or aren't  there too many adjacent parenthesized phrases in
the Doc main page? I suggest to remove them in the second one in every
section, something like changing

#  Learning Manual (in one big page ~ 1.5 MB, in PDF)
(start here)

to

#  Learning Manual (in one big page ~ 1.5 MB, in PDF)
Start here. <!-- This could be in a smaller typeface -->

I'll prepare a patch for your evaluation. I could do this on all languages.
