They should not be removed, because proper working of translations use
functionnality provided by extract_texi_filenames.py, and which is not
provided by the alternative code in the init file; therefore, I'll
remove the latter as soon as it becomes unnecessary, i.e. as soon as
this Python script produces correct node names.

I can provide you a SSH access to my box (provided I have a public and
not too filtered IP address) if you don't believe me :-)

All HTML file names from Texinfo should be downcased for consistency,
doing otherwise would likely create broken links.
