Graham,
I'm sorry that you got annoyed. I originally included a
section called "Git commands for developers" that had all
the git setup/download commands in one place; see the
(partially mangled) patch from
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/lilypond-devel/2010-01/msg00143.html.
Back then I got the sense that you thought it was
unnecessary, but looking back at that thread, I think
perhaps I misinterpreted some of what you said. I even see
another thread where you expressed your "ick" for
cutting-and-pasting from multiple sections...

So shall I put in a "quick start" for developers containing
just the relevant commands?
