I'll keep that in mind when I'm using Emacs.
You can always use
> the character map program to search for different symbols

That was the first things I tried, but without success. After finding
the solution via a Google search I was then able to find it in the
character map:
Left curly-quote: Alt-0147
Right curly-quote: Alt-0148
