Thanks Philippe!  I followed your steps and Frescobaldi's MIDI player is now 
working for me.  This is especially nice because I was never able to get it to 
work with the older 2.0.4 pre-packaged-for-mac version of Frescobaldi that I 
was using before.

I'll post these instructions to the Frescobaldi mailing list so that this is 
documented there (at least).
