Happy to have this discussion if you want it, but I think it's getting away from the point I wanted to make.
It's simply that I don't see the risk of proprietary software stopping being maintained or developed as one that is appealing to many current Finale/Sibelius users. The risk of the software being sold to an irresponsible or greedy investor, or the risk of development being messed around with for commercial reasons, is a different risk (and an argument that IMO carries much more weight).
I understand that we may have simply been talking about the same thing in different words, though.
