It might be useful for you to elaborate on the semantic differences
between \markup \char ##x00A0 and \markup \line { \char ##x00A0 }
because the documentation seems to suggest that \markup \char ##x00A0
is equivalent to \markup { \char ##x00A0 } in all respects. (I've not
seem much documentation of " and { in the LP manuals.)
