 There is definitely no reason to keep using cvs if switching to svn is
possible. In addition to some advantages of svn mentioned above I'd also
like to remind probably the most important one: svn has a notion of
(atomic) revisions unlike cvs and this is so useful (or, rather, cvs is so
useless in this aspect) that this alone should justify switching to it.
Also, there are absolutely no redeeming features to cvs and it's not
developed any more since many years. And migrating to svn from cvs should
indeed be fairly easy (which is the reason I won't suggest migrating to hg
or bzr instead although if you're ready to consider these DVCSs I'd gladly
expand on why I think they could be a good idea).

 If you're interested I can convert my bzr LMI mirror into svn repository
(this will take a couple of hours to run to the completion probably). And
apparently Savannah admins can import the dump we provide to them, at least
according to http://www.mail-archive.com/address@hidden/msg01192.html

 So just please let me know when/if you want me to create the repository
and put its dump online here.
