using teq

Hi All!
Does anybody know:
When I try to convert my old files using teq formatting I
steadily get 'core dumped' reaction. After some
experimenting I have discovered that teq does not like
@Heading symbol. If I remove it from the file everything
goes okay.
Of course I can get along without @Heading or switch back to
eq formatting but I'm still
curious what the reason may be and what surprises expect me
in the future!
