I'm using slang0.99-38 with KANJI_SUPPORT set to 1 (which the news
groups here say is the right way to set it).  As soon as I can get some
spare time (ha, ha), changing from 1 to 0 is something I want to
test for it's effect.  One person using "kterm" has told me he doesn't
have the problems I experience, so it sounds more and more like an
emulation problem to me.
