It seems to be a good idea to make math symbols available universally, just like lsymbols - I feel the need to use symbols such as ≠ ⇒ ⊂ ⊆ etc.. quite often. Is it possible load math.latex (with the with-backslash-prefix option enabled) into lsymbols?

I agree that typing, for instance, \neq is more intuitive, but, for me,
typing Shift-SPC (my key to toggle input method) is easier than typing \
which is located far from the home position of my little finger.

Requiring prefix "\" is a very drastic change, and I'm not sure novice
users can:
 o locate the relevant mim file
 o look into that file
 o figure out what was changed
 o find that "\" is necessary now,
 o and if he doesn't like it, restore the old version or find a
   way to change the default value
