Great ! That's exactly what we need:
  http://nominatim.openstreetmap.org/?q=paris&format=xml&polygon=1
  http://nominatim.openstreetmap.org/?q=paris&format=json&polygon=1

That's really, really nice (we even get the osm ids, for easy street 
index generation).

The next question could be: do we choose to install nominatim/gazetteer 
on the server (imho: no) ?
