Well, mldonkey up to version 1.99 beta 5 is known as a leecher tool,
because it floods servers with source-requests, connects to 5 servers at
the same time and aggressivly connects clients.

The question is not to fake it, this would on the long run destroy
the network because it *was* a leecher tool. Using mldonkey <1.99b5,
you had an unfair advantage compared to the official donkey.

this has been partially stopped with the lugdunum servers, and now,
with coop of lugdunum, the mldonkey is more server/community-friendly.

emule (a windows edonkey client) is spreading very fast, too - it would be
a good step to integrate its way of upload-crediting.
