i  looked on the above thread and tried many of the mentioned ip's. As most of 
them are probably dynamic ip's i got a connection refused when telnetting. 
But some of them seem to work and i had success getting a overnet peer added. 
But i would be much more comfortable when mldonkey can read a contact.dat 
file.
