is it possible to run multiple instances of mldonkey (in different

I wouldn't suggest it as your firewall would choke trying maintain all the state connections. Instead, run once instance of mldonkey on your firewall, save downloaded/temp files to a nfs mounted dir on a machine with diskspace and add controls (rules) so that other IP's on your network (you and your buddies) can connect to the web interface. You can then search and download all at the same time with only one instance.

But then everyone knows about your porn-stuff... ;-)
I have the same "problem" with my flat mates. Solution: We are running one central mldonkey on our firewall-pc and each of us has its own edonkey running on our own computers, ports forwarded through NAT. Another problem with our firewall-pc runnning different mldonkeys would be the CPU an RAM usage of so many instances of mldonkey. (it is 133Mhz/64MB). The firewall itself (in my case netfilter/iptables) is no problem. The maximum number of connections is between 1000 and 3000. The 133-pentium can deal with that easily.
