Follow-up Comment #5, bug #41093 (project octave):

I have some widgets but rarely use them.  I’m not sure how one opens an app
when the widgets are floating.  The background is greyed out and so the app
launcher and dock are inaccessible.  If you wish I can delete all widgets and
try again.
